11.129 Hammered Pan with “Picket Fence” Lanterns

Unusual and striking, this fixture has very unusual cast brass details on the lanterns reminiscent of picket fences.  Each “fence” was cast in solid brass, then bent and soldered to each lantern.  The whole fixture is actually solid brass, not plated, even the chain.  It has its original patina, with a new coat of wax to protect it.  The caramel slag glass panels appear to be all original, though two panels have been cracked and glued back together.  Hammered texture throughout, even the chain.  Note the unusual method of attaching the chain at the canopy, with decorative castings instead of just loops.  This fixture actually has 5 bulbs--there is one socket inside the bowl, providing indirect light off the ceiling---a rarity on arts and crafts fixtures.  Also allows the fixture to light up itself, to admire the chains and upper details.  This fixture has a 22” diameter (14” at bowl), drops 36”, and has a 5” diameter canopy to cover all junction boxes.  Chains are currently 16” each, but might be able to be shortened a bit if you’d like the fixture slightly shorter.
