746 Beardslee-Williamson Sconces with original paint
746 Beardslee-Williamson Sconces with original paint
Here’s a masterpiece of 1920’s design! These sconces were made by the Beardslee Williamson company, who made some of the most impressive and original lighting fixtures of the art deco period. These are beautifully preserved with their original paint finish in near flawless condition The glass shades are flat, pressed glass with a stencil painted design rather than the more typical pattern pressed into the glass. They are open on top to spill light up the wall, and have an exposed bottom, with more stencilled designs. The small shield is a hinged flat that opens to reveal the lockup nut used to hang them--some models (like on our homepage) used the flap to hide an outlet! The lit photos are from a previous pair we sold with identical shades but a polished aluminum finish instead of paint. Same glass shades, same basic design. Seattle.
