856 Arts and Crafts Slag Glass Bowl

This type of slag glass bowl is not only impressive to look at, but also rare.  Often slag glass is fragile since it’s made from different types of glass fused together, but this bowl survives and looks great.  Sh was made by the Bournique Glass company in Kokomo Indiana, and is pictured in their 1913 catalog.  The exterior has a faux leading molded into the glass and is painted on in gold--part of this has rubbed off in certain spots.  The fixture it hangs from has its original turnkey socket, rewired for a 75w bulb, max.  Overall this fixture is 43.5” long including glass and 8.5” wide (glass bowl width).  Length easily changed.  We’ve also got this shade in amber slag glass!
