937 EXTREMELY Rare Beardslee Williamson Fixture
937 EXTREMELY Rare Beardslee Williamson Fixture
Collectors have seen the sconces that match this overhead, but virtually none even know this fixture even existed! Rare to find even the body, the glass will be missing. Notice it’s ONE large piece of glass with 5 lobes, versus most similar fixtures use all the same shades on the single, two, three and 5 lights. This fixture required an entirely different set of molds for each size fixture--an very expensive endeavor in the depression era 1930’s. Few have survived. This aluminum body has casting within and without, and light can shine directly onto a table underneath it. The glass alone is 16” wide and 7” tall. We could not save the original paint, but the bits that were left allowed us to match the colors and paint scheme exactly. Sadly, there is a small repair to the glass shade, where a chunk came out that was 1” by 3” but very well glued back into place. It’s hardly noticeable. Next to it on the upper rim is a color matched repair where a 1/4” by 1/4” bit is missing. The stunning beauty and amazing design overpowers these small blemishes. Overall the fixture is 22” tall and 16” wide. Takes a single bulb up to 200w.
